Moss growing in pot

Does it matter if moss had started to grow over the soil in my large tub which had arose growing in it? The rose seems ok so far, planted this spring, bought as a small shrub.

    Some of my potted bulbs are well covered Tetley. Now that you've mentioned mulch, I'll just tell everyone it's deliberate image

    I usually just clear it away when I top up the compost or when it becomes unsightly. It mainly happens with stuff that's put aside after flowering in spring as it's often in a shadier, sheltered spot. Doesn't seem to be a problem, but it's untidy looking more than anything, so you may want to clear it and add gravel or something similar to improve the look and set your rose off nicely  image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
