  • Just be aware that there's no compulsion for a horse owner to have public liability insurance.

    Also be aware that it's absurd to jump to "what if they don't pay after a small claims court order".    More than 80% of awards are paid by the due date.

     

    Also be aware that when a horse owner has allowed their horse to stray because their fencing is inadequate or their gate wasn't closed then its always their responsibility.    The OP said the horses had broken out.   It's simple.  The owner is liable and negligent.

    p.s.   We own an equestrian centre - my partner trains and manages horses.  I do law.    So this is not uninformed opinion or a "belief"   image
