I want a greenhouse but not a shed fest!

in Talkback
It's me again with my quest for a greenhouse - in short I've decided on 8x6 even though I'm concerned that my garden will look like a shed fest...any smaller and I think I would outgrow it quickly. I think it will be sited next to shed in same direction (door facing east - I've got a north facing garden). But anyone got any other ideas on where it could go or what way it should face before OH puts the flags down? Ive also got a summerhouse on right hand corner of decking. All the stuff for greenhouse is piled onto decking at moment ain anticipation. Thank you

Having sited ours initially in a convenient spot for me, electricity, water access form the garage and then discovered it was always too cool on the north side of our house, we then moved it to a sunny spot facing full south and protected from prevailing winds by an inherited conifer hedge.
It is now much more productive and, at 8 x 6, far too small for my ambitions now that it works.
I would advise you to go bigger if poss and then site it where it gets full sun, especially in winter, and if that means hiding it behind a shrub or trellis panel or two, so be it.
Alternatively - do you really need all that shed and garage space? Could some be replaced by a greenhouse and thus till leave your existing garden intact?
Hi Obelixx - thank you for your comments...garage is OH hobby and has solvency and 5 motorbikes in
it . The shed has bicycles-tumble dryer -Xmas decs etc and that's chokablok too. Where it is planned to be will get the sun up until about 3pm - is that not good enough? Maybe I just haven't got room......
*solvency? Where did that come from lol! Should have been 'workbench'
P.S only 1 garage and 1 shed belongs to me...the huge garage is neighbour's.
I agree , as usual with obelixx.
In the words of Alan Titchmarsh:
" 2 things in the garden which can never be too big: your greenhouse and your compost bins"
Phew! I just built three of the biggest compost bins in the world and everybody laughed. ha! who's laughing now!
as for sighting the greenhouse...you can always shade it but you can't make the sun shine on it if it's in the wrong place. also...even if you get crystal palace you'll still fill it. get the biggest you can afford/have room for.
Just checked on compass and greenhouse door will actually face sse so that's good. Thanks for your input everyone.... it's a big expenditure for us and has to be right first time. Got someone to erect it and hubby laying flags - he's not a flagger but he will do his best for me and I wouldnt dare tell him in 12 months time that it has to be moved
It's a wisteria jo - about 25 years old now. Prolific flowered
