Verdun I am horrified [ well mildly surprised ]. I am not sure how I would manage without; opium poppies, calendula, cornflowers, nigella, rudbeckia, orach, nicandra to name but a few. They link my perennials together bring months of colour and are often loved by insects.
May you be burnt at the stake as a heretic [ joke, just in case I am blackballed from the site ]
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
My garden would be a sorry sight without annuals - it's our first year in a grass rectangle. We haven't decided on many permanent plants, so for this year at least it's a glorious jumble of flowers and the odd veg. I may leave it that way - I like sowing seeds
I wouldn't be without them. I have waves of self seeded annuals - forget me nots, escholzia, nigella, orach, opium poppies, nasturtiums and limnanthes. I just thin them out or pull up the ones I don't want.
I sow cosmos, calendula and tagetes...and of course the queen of the lot, sweet peas.
...I'm very fond of annuals, all bright and cheerful. and I like something new and fresh every year.... the sort of thing one might have done with boyfriends... when young..

But I am nice Verdun, at least I think so!
Aren't all gardeners nice?

I didn't agree with the "burnt at the stake" bit, but that was a joke! In fact, only just noticed that bit!!
