hopefully you casweep what I mean. If I need to go higher I put 4 more shorter green pipes in the top of the plastic thenb move the canes up. now just to find a method of holding the nedown rather than old bits of wood

I use clothes pegs to attach the netting to the supports, and tent pegs or similar to secure it to the soil.

Figrat, clothes pegs get used all over my garden; fastening the tops of compost bags and sand bags to stop the rain from getting in, but using them to fasten net is brilliantimage

They're also useful for nasal application when dispensing comfrey tea.

  • I have just recycled the old table from our surgical prep room with the knackered top that was no longer animal safe into good strong greenhouse staging as the plants tend not to throw themselves around as much as pets!

I have just spent an hour trying to make a graceful archway for runner beans using 8' lengths of plumber's plastic pipe slotted onto 4' bamboos that have been pushed into the ground, makes nice little archways, but too short for runners; maybe next year for French beans. I just have this urge to do something really architectural for the beans.image
