Compact tree (or shrub like tree)

We are looking for a small tree or tree-like shrub/standard to plant in a 90cm by 180cm raised bed. It will partly be needed to provide privacy as it will sit by the fence that borders our neighbours, so something that has 1.5m to 2m spread would be good, as would something that grows relatively fast.



I originally thought about an Acer but we are planning to have one elsewhere. We have a small photinia standard elsewhere too. (Another one of either the acer or photinia will be fall back if we don't find anything else.)



The RHS plant finder has a couple of options for trees but it is hard to find shrubs that might have been trained as standards.



Finally, we don't mind a bit of pruning and general care but don't want anything too high maintenance! Hopefully we aren't asking for too much!
