Deer and rabbits

I have a continuing problem with deer coming into the garden and eating any tender new growth. I have tried to plant only those plants supposedly disliked by both deer and rabbits, but up here in Highland Region they love everything. I have tried Grazers, but if there is persistent rain (as there was last year) it is washed off and the plants are once again Eaten. I can't rabbit proof/deer proof as the area is too large, any help will be appreciated.
