Sugar snaps are ready, but the beds are not!
in Fruit & veg
I've grown sugar snap peas in module trays and they're very ready to go out, however the raised bed they were supposed to go in isn't.
I'm struggling for pots but have lots of grow-bags. Do sugar snaps need a decent root depth or could I get away with planting in grow-bags? The beds are a good 4 weeks away....

I'm sure it's possible, you'll have to think about how to support the peas though.
This link ( sorry, you'll have to copy and paste) gives some pointers as to how to increase the planting depth with growbags.

Thanks all! I'll take a look at the links.
Verdun - the raised bed isn't available as it's not built and I'm reliant on hubby's availability to get it done. The other are finished but already planted up with parsnips, carrots, onions and garlic. I was hoping the legumes bed would be ready by now, but there you go....
lindsay, are they a dwarf variety or climbers?
Definitely climbers....I think the variety is 'Delikett' or something similar?
Actually I just googled it, and it says they're a dwarf variety! It didn't say on the Suttons packaging how tall they grow, but they're limp and floppy like a climber?
I've had dwarf varieties grow to 4' or more so that explains the lankiness. They'll be shallow-rooted so you could put them in containers. But they'll need support.
