French lavender

I planted three french lavender plants at the beginning of the summer.  They all had beautiful flowers at the start so I was looking forward to seeing them flowering all summer long.  Sadly they have not flowered for the last couple of months - am a little baffled as to why.  I live in a very dry part of the country so had thought this would suit lavender.   Any ideas for how to prolong the flowering would be greatly appreciated!

Lavender dont repeat flower. They look their best in June. I leave the flower heads on for most of the winter as the goldfinches will pick seeds out of them. I tidy them up in Spring, but if you like a tidy garden, give them a trim now to dead head them all.

Thanks both for the advice - I'll look forward to more beautiful flowers next year!

One of my most favourite plants, but they don't normally survive the winter for me. They aren't as hardy as English lavender.
