Caterpillars

Is there anything I can do?? It's terrible what they've done and there are so so many of them. My friend recommends a hand killing spree but they've stripped them bare. Is it too late to salvage? What is the best method of organically controlling the outbreak? Thank you!!

There is something you can do in preparation for next year

Either buy or make a frame to fit you veg patch and buy some very very close mesh netting, I bought mine on Amazon but you can get scaffolding netting, make sure the cover goes right down to the ground as the butterflies will find the smallest gap.

Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
