This year my plum tree has only flowered on one of the lower branches. The blossom has now gone and some fruits have set. The rest of the branches have emerging buds and a hint of whiteblossom but have not got any further now for several weeks and they obviously won't leaf or flower now. What has caused this ? Is it weather or disease?
I have a 5yr old Victoria plum tree which is usually laden with fruit each year. Im pretty sure they self pollinate, so don't rely upon neighbouring fruit trees to pollinate them. Though I do believe fruit trees can often miss fruiting on some years.
My poor plum was in a big pot when I initially bought it and pay of its trunk was split by another tree calling in high winds a couple of years ago. It had another year in the pot with its trunk taped and supported and last year went into the garden. I was hoping for blossom this year, but I think it is still recovering. It had loads of leaves and looks healthy so I think I'll leave it where it is, make sure it is getting water, mulch and cross my fingers for next year - or the year after
Help! Our plum tree has had no blossom this year. I’m trying to figure out whether I should prune all the leaves back? Maybe the Beast from the East killed the blossoms... anyone else having issues this year

yep my plum tree which has been planted two years has healthy leaves but didn't blossom so hopefully next year.
Just bought a czar plumb. Same problem. I Google and read this, so hopeful for the future
"Your tree should produce a crop three to four years after it has been planted and will reach its full-cropping capability six years after planting."
