Hi out there
Can anyone advise me on getting a dark oak woodstain that says what it does on the tin that matches cuprinol dark oak as that particular colour has been discontinued. Tried 1 or two but they seem to be more red cedar than dark oak.

Sorry to hear about the dark oak. It's the only one I like. Hate those orange shades.
In the sticks near Peterborough
Just using Tudor Black Oak from Ronseal which is pretty dark but don't know whether it matches the Cuprinol one. I think they do another dark one. as well. Don't know how it lasts, obviously! Have used 2 coats to give a good finish.
