Plant recommendations for east facing garden

I'm currently redoing my garden. There are existing plants (some of which i dont know what they are but keep coming back so not fighting them anymore as they look nice) in there but am looking to fill it out and add colour. I can't work out if I should be looking for full sun or partial shade suitable plants. We get the sun until about 2-3pm. By about 5pm the whole garden is in shade.
what should I be looking for?

....sunlovers I would say.... plants like Cistus, Lavender, Roses.... there are so many really... I would just buy whatever I wanted apart from those specifically described as needing shade and moist soil.... as east facing sun spots tend to dry out quickly...
