Shrub / Tree Help

Hi,

I am looking to purchase a shrub / tree that can also live in a container.  This will be purchased in memory of my Grandad who recently passed and was a very keen gardner.  I will also buy other family members the same item.

We are all located in the south east of england and gardening is not my strong point so I welcome all ideas.

    Hi, my grandad was called Charles - Charlie to his friends. I will need to speak to my Nan about what he used to grow.
