sloping strip
I have a long strip of garden running the length of the house to the side. It slopes from the road to the side wall of the house-drops around 2 feet and is around 5 feet wide. Currently planted with boring evergreen shrubs, a smattering of bark and many weeds! Any ideas how I can make it look tidy with little maintenance? Thanks

Thanks all. The slope is across the width from the kerbstone to the house. There is no boundary wall/fence. It is sunny and partly shady, clay soil, not windy. The shrubs are planted across the whole expanse
