Weeds in lawn

Hiya, anyone have experience with a lawn covered in dandelions. When I remove using garden fork, I usually end up breaking root due to depth and a big hole in lawn. We only turfed a couple of years ago and its starting to look a mess. Any advice will help.

or you could paint on some glyphosate - that'd kill 'em stone dead

I use a fiskas only just got it and have used it and it does pull the full root out
