Lethargic spider found on pavement on the way to work. Any ideas what kind of spider it is ? Thanks.

Nah, 'snot a house spider. They're bigger and hairier with a chequered abdomen. Like this:
Dunno what, offhand though. Maybe a money spider, in view of what it appears to be carrying?
Brill photo btw!
PS
Can't see it on that page you linked to Dove. I do like the photo of the Invisible Spider, though!
arachnis nigris
Mouse spider looks the best fit so far - I've never heard to them. Is the abdomen hairy enough ...
it looks like Zelotes latreillei.

Hi Alan, Looked at the link. The head seems too wide for my spider, however It is a great link and the site provides ID's of spiders - I think I will register with them to get the experts to take a look.
Thanks jo47 - spider would have been squashed underfoot! Family think I'm mad - nothing new there
OH and I have consulted his books - we think it is a Ground Spider Gnaphosidae

Registered with the link Alan provided - britishspiders.org but waiting for 'authorisation'
Going to check out your link now, Dove
Well, I have had my eyes opened to a cast array of spiders I nver knew existed. They are definitely the right shape and have hair like mine too. This one looks very similar...
No green fangs...might have been the lights.
