I am keen to purchase more Hebes and would be very interested to know what your favourites are. I am particularly looking for one with purple foliage and possibly a dwarf variety as I don't want it taller than approx 120cm. Thanks
Thanks for replies, I have been looking (on line) at lots of Hebes and they are all lovely I am particularly drawn to Hebe Rhubarb and Custard at the moment but I am sure I can be tempted by others!
Sorry, I forgot to mention, I agree with you Verdon about not knowing enough about the hardiness of new varieties. Has anyone had any success with the Magicolors range? they are very pretty.
I'd agree with Verdun about hardiness. Some of the purples are less sturdy, just like the variegated ones or the longer leaved varieties. There are some small ones like Green Globe which remain in a nice dome. It spreads but you can keep it tidy.
I grow Vernicosa (which is like box) in large pots, and it stays in a ball without much effort. It gets to a couple of feet or so.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

I like Baby Marie, it's a green leaved one but makes a round ball and only about a foot tall,
heartbreaker is good it has purple red foliage but not sure how tall it gets.
thease two are my favourites.
I like the dwarf variegated light green ones from Morrisons at £2 each. They make a lovely display in groups
