We had three here that were planted in 1950, they had gone very bare and straggley, bits dropping off and brittle, the tree feller said they had come to the end of their life.
our conifer hedge, 30years old almost, kept at five feet, was good apart from where some self seeded bracken got between it and killed the growth on either side, much better out and shrubs and flower border there now.
