and I've planted out my former patch for babies in pots (membrane and gravel) with assorted plants after deciding I wouldn't grow so many OH is saying 'I told you so'
Jo: my lamb's ears are looking an absolute mess and lolling all over the border, but I can't bear to cut them down yet as they are covered in bees all day and everyday! It has to be one of the best things I grow, apart from cotoneaster. My lavenders have had very few visits and don't have much scent, probably because of where I live and the weird 'summer' we've had!

This can be a problem, I've lost seed that way. Picking them before they're ripe won't give you viable seed though
