When/if to prune fruit?

I'd appreciate some advice re: when I'm supposed to prune my fruit trees and bushes! My summer fruiting raspberries are sorted, but is it too early to prune red/black currants and gooseberries? This year I had hardly any gooseberries so I think I may have done something to wrong them last year! Apes and pears are still fruiting so I assume I prune them once finished. My fig tree has gone crazy again but I'm worried about pruning that and losing all of next years fruit (we did this last year and had about three figs this year!). My rhubarb has this far thrived on neglect but not sure if there's anything I should be doing with it. Herb wise, do I pot up some coriander and parsley to bring indoors and leave my thyme, oregano and sage outside? Sorry for all the questions - rare day off today so I need to make the most of it!

Hi Katvet with current bushes can be pruned from now and through winter, gooseberries as well. Only prune out some of the old wood which is darker than the new. Apples prune in winter and summer. Don't know about the restimage

Apples and pears, prune when dormant, from when the leaves fall until March.

  • Dont prune cherries or plums now - they need to be done in midsummer.

  • Missed the boat for my plums and cherries then!
  • They don't usually need regular pruning as such, so no problem image
