Alliums In A Pot
I've brought some mixed alliums that i'd like to put in a big terracotta pot for next year.I have a few allium giganteum to put in the center of the pot with some other varieties, Mount Everest,Purple Sensation & Sphaerocephalon to mix around the sides. Now my question is frost protection. They have got to be planted soon and with them being in a pot will they be ok in a unheated greenhouse?.

Allium bulbs will be absolutely fine outside. I wouldn't bother sticking them in the greenhouse, put a good amount of grit in the compost too improve drainage!
Thanks for the advice
I have alliums in pots on my patio every year, plant the bulbs into pots on the patio in autumn, and left on the patio over winter, and they have always performed well.
Great stuff, Garden looking good LeadFarmer
Lovely garden leadfarmer Great borders loveing the sunflowers at back xx
Those photos were taken a couple of years ago, I forgot to sow my sunflowers this year. All of those plants are in pots, apart from the lavender in the foreground of the second photo.
