Does anybody know what this plant is please
Hi,
A friend of mine has a plant in their garden and they do not know what this plant is... Could somebody please put us all out of our misery and tell us what this plant is and what is the name of the plant.
I haven't got a clue to be honest. I know nothing about gardening and plants, but even I am intrigued

to know what this is.

Certainly looks like it's going to be a big teasel. If your friend likes native species and doesn't mind if they aren't too decorative, I'd leave it.
Probably teasel. If so, be prepared for 5' flower spike next year. Bees and butterflies love the flowers, goldfinches love the seeds, and the seed heads can be brought indoors for decoration.
I'm not sure it is a teasel, the texture seems wrong. Can you do a few more photos please

I've seen it before, but not recently. Can't remember - looking in my Keble-Martin ................. Bristly Oxtongue - Picris echiodes aka Helminthotheca echiodes

Oops, sorry if I gave the wrong id. I can see the differences now.
