Brambles
Hi anyone. I have a lot of brambles growing in a really tight area between my fence and the next door neighbours wall-it's about 6" wide and not accessible.
They keep coming through our fence and into our flowerbeds and I think they are doing the same for the neighbour-although she's too polite to complain.
They are very near my two apple trees and other flowers. I heard that gel Roundup can be painted on the leaves. Is this a good approach? I may be able to lean over the neighbours wall and reach the tops of them. Hand-pulling is not an option unfortunately.
Any thoughts please?

If you can access to put on a gel surely you can spray weedkiller in there. It will be much more effective than painting the leaves with the gel.
I'd recommend using SBK brushwood killer on brambles as Roundup will have to be used several times to be effective.
Use the strongest weed killer you can and cover as much of the plant as possible. Most weed killers work on a ration, depending how much you can cover will depend how far it penetrates down into the root. SBK sounds a good one.
Could you use a ladder against the neighbours wall enabling you to look down on the brambles to get a better coverage.
It'll be much more effective to spray the new growth with SBK in the spring rather than at this time of year.

Thank you for the advice everyone. It's been really useful to me. I'll go ahead and try to spray-avoiding all the apple trees of course....
