The best way to take a Wisteria cutting
I have a beautiful Wisteria on my South Facing wall of my house, I would like to take a large cutting. I am looking for advice on the best way to do this, can anyone help.
Thank you in advance,
Enez

Hi Enez
The simplest way, if your wisteria has some long stems that will reach the ground, is to take some layered cuttings.
Otherwise you can take soft stem cuttings in the summer and hardwood cuttings in the winter.
If you click on this link https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?PID=173 and scroll down to Propagation, you'll find descriptions and links that take you to more detailled instructions.
I hope that helps. Good luck, let us know how you get on
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
a word of caution. Cuttings and seeds of wisteria can take many years to flower unless you can propagate from "previously flowering wood"
This is whey they're usually grafted when you buy them, which makes them pricey too.
Thank you both for your advice and information. I will let you know how I get on.
