Monkey puzzle

Hello, we recently moved to a hOuse that has a monkey puzzle tree in the garden. it looks like someone drilled a hole in it and it has a bulge where the hole is and is oozing sap. The bark near the hole is also cracked. Is there anything I can do to help it. Thanks

I also had a monkey puzzle tree when I moved here 3 years ago. It's about 25 ft high. I chopped off the lower branches so that I could use the space underneath and mine has also oozed sticky sap. It doesn't seem to have done it any harm at all. Hope this helps a bit.
The hole could have been drilled to take a core out to check for rot.
Thanks for you responses, other than the oozing sap and cracks the tree looks healthy. I think I will leave it alone and hopefully it will be okay....
