Bulbs for under conifer

Hello all.  Earlier in the year I had some helpful advice on here about planting under a friend's conifer.  Lamium and geranium are now flourishing (she likes pinky/purple shades).  I'm now trying to think of some bulbs/corms to introduce for late winter/spring interest.  I'm thinking cyclamen hederifolium for its hardiness or perhaps anemone blanda? But does anyone have any other suggestions?  I'm looking for things to give a carpet effect, so not too tall. Many thanks.
