Colin, I can't remember where I got my seeds, but it wouldn't be of any help to you, over there in UK. However, I hope you can source some. We're currently enjoying eating the leaves and yesterday picked the first small flower heads, which were delicious last night.
My seeds were marketed as Broccolini, but as stated above, I heard somewhere that someone has claimed it as a brand name. Whichever way, they are well worth growing. Good luck with your search.
Morning all. 9am here and just stirring. I've been sleeping very heavily.
Yes Runny, the cabbage whites are a major consideration - darned things. As yet no butterflies of any description have woken up for spring. I'm ready to put cloches up as soon as I see any sign of them.
Colin, I think I've heard Monty talk about sprouting broccoli and I assumed then that it was something similar. We are currently eating the leaves, again after watching Monty say to use your winter greens. They are lovely in everything, steamed, boiled, in soups, etc. not strong taste and very tender. The photo of the heads is our first lot and we enjoyed them very much.
We are in the Snowy Mountains region of NSW, Colin, so colder than Melbourne.
