Intriguing Plant - ID Please

  • I only found it by accident about 4 years ago in a garden centre in Uxbridge and bought 2 of them. Never seen it again so I'm glad I bought it when I did. Am hoping to harvest the seed soon, or what I think are the seeds.

    If it is Echinops, then where are the bracts which should be just below the flower?

  • I guess Silverlight made her diagnosis on the basis of the leaves, Berghill.  Looking at photos on Google, though the bracts/small leaves on flowering stems are often to be seen, they aren't always there, as far as I can see.

    Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

    Gardenmaiden if you have any spare give me a shout, I collect seeds from lots of perennials in my garden sure we can find something to swap;-)
