Can anyone help me in identifying this chilli plant. I was sold them as Padron Chilli's, however I now doubt that, due to shape, size and heat.They are all fairly hot. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
Purchased the seeds from a National garden centre, the package is Franchi peperone padron They're still on sale, I checked today. But looking up the picture on the internet my plant looks nothing like it should. I'll purchase some more seeds for next year and see what I end up with. Cheers
Another possibility is a hybrid, due to accidental cross-pollination. Chillies cross-pollinate quite easily, so it's not unusual, although less common when the seed is from a reputable source that has taken steps to avoid it. Your seeds could even have been collected from a parent Padron pod, that had been cross-pollinated with an Etna or something else.

In that case, I'd take a guess that your chilli might be an 'Etna' variety?

I've had crossed seeds from Franchi before. Pity, because they have a decent range.
Could I have cross pollinated the plant by self pollinated with a brush ? or would it have been at source ?
