brown patches in conifer hedge
Recently moved house and have a really dense coniferous hedge which is about five foot tall and three foot wide. However, there are a few brown (dead) patches in it. How can I fix it please?

Get yourself a good sharp saw and cut each main stem down to a foot or two above the ground. Then dig out what's left, using the stump as a lever. Dig in compost or manure and plant a nice hedge using some native plants like holly, hawthorn or blackthorn, or a mixture.
