Aaargh! the design of seed packets!

Have just come in from intensive planting in the veg bed to find all the rest of the beetroot seeds are floating around in the pocket of my apron along with bits of wire and other detritus. Why does every large seed company insist on these silly packets? If you cut off the top, you lose half the instructions. So I open them at the side, not knowing if the seeds are loose or in a little foil packet. Since I don't carry a supply of paper clips around the garden, even folding over the packet is not going to work, these pesky seeds are going to find there way out.
The small seed companies often put the seeds in a tiny plastic bag that can be re-sealed, Hurrah. But then the instructions have to come on a separate piece of paper
I would have thought that at this stage in mankinds grasp of the material world some brainiac could have figured out a better solution.

Hi Artjak, how about investing in some of these, they come in all sizes.
You can put the seed packet inside and still see what it is.
I always open mine through that little flap on the bottom. And have a pot of paper clips in the gh to seal it afterwards.

I agree. We can put men on the moon but a seed packet....ooh no....waaaay too much to expect!

Thank you all for being so understanding. I like Swiss Sue's idea, but I wonder about condensation - we live in a pretty humid country.
I was thinking more about when you put them in your pocket. You could live the tops open when storing (upright).
