I have just bought a jasmin officiale and it is tightly wound around three sticks. Should I leave it or try and unwind the stems?

my advice would be to not unwind them at this stage, you can remove those little sticks later on... It'll take off soon enough just as it is... presumably you have suitable support for it to grow upon, it is quite vigorous...
