Cutting from St James Park

 

on a recent visit to London we admired a plant in the garden of St James Park The gardners gave us a cutting and we  can't remember what they said it was called The cutting is not thriving Can anyone help with the plant and how to save ? the leaves are purple

    It looks like one of the aeoniums - possibly aeonium swartkof

      Let the compost dry out a bit and put it somwhere where it gets bright light but not scorching sunlight. It'll need to be somewhere frost-free in the winter. image

    That's it Thank you very much I think the compost was too wet I have repotted and am hoping I can save it

    Sharp drainage for them June. Hope it recovers - they're striking plants with their glossy black fleshy leaves image

    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Coincidence my original Aeonium is currently being read. One of my cuttings did the same. I took it out of the original compost, re trimmed the end of the stalk then let it semi callous overie dry out for 24 hrs. Repotted it in very gritty compost and kept it well watered but not wet.
