Some advice please
in Plants
Oh dear that didn't work!?! My question was this:
Has anyone sown scarlet flax, ladybird poppies or cornflowers in trays and then transplanted them? The instructions say to sow directly outside but I'm reluctant as I would like to give spare plants to my mum and also they will end up in pots eventually, not in flower beds. Any advice? Will they transplant badly?
Thanks, Alice

hi alice yes i have grown poppies and cornflowers in trays at the moment they are three inches high and in may i will carefully transplant them in the garden hopefully they will selfseed but i will collect some seeds as well, they will be ok in a big pot in poor soil on the dry side.
Alice - I currently have poppies germinating in a tray - not done it before so I'm crossing everything
The bed's not et ready for direct sowing and it is still jolly cold ou there.
