Nutcutlet and I saw this in an NGS garden today, no one knew what it was;
Berries and leaves from the mystery bush.
I haven't died from giving it the taste test
Nut...so we know it is not toxic in small quantities, what did it taste like?
Nothing, a bit sharp on the tongue
Nut! Didn't you listen when you were a child? Tut tut.
snoodle
Snoodle, we all tried to stop her...someone wrestled her to the ground... it was all a blur after that...by some miracle she survived...
Artjak
Looks like a spicebush. If so, you're lucky. I wouldn't eat them as fruit but good for flavoring other things, beer, wines, culinary dishes etc.
Hopeful H, I've just looked up spicebush and it seems to have longer fruit and possibly different shaped leaves...but I'm leaving my options open
Cotoneaster?
