Yes, if it is alstroemeria there is no point trying to dig it up. The roots go so far - down and sideways - that you will never succeed. Let it flower and keep it if you like it or use chemicals if you don't. It is very pretty but also invasive.
Whatever weedkiller you use will affect other plants if they catch any spray Stuart. Ideally, use it in the evening (to minimise the effect on beneficial insects) and on a dry calm day if possible , to help prevent that.
I find Resolva the most efficient - the ready to use one starts working in 24 hours - but you'll need a few goes with it to get rid of those alstroemerias!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

ah thank you, im looking into them now, they look a nice flower, i might save a few roots and pot them and see how they come up

Thank you all for your help on this, i will clear the area that iv already opened up, any future growths il use a chemical on the greenery
