Adding chicken droppings to compost?

We're about to get 4 hens and have been told I can add their droppings to my compost bin. Is this a good idea? Could they also be added to my leaf mould pile, or would it just be best to dispose of them? Just to add, my hens will be wormed. Thanks.

Yes, adding droppings, sawdust, straw etc is OK. As long as the pet is vegetarian (so not dog or cat), droppings are fine to add. So rabbit, guinea pig droppings OK too.
They'll be really useful added to your compost - they'll act as an activator and speed up the composting process and add nutrients - absolutely brilliant.

. They're a great addition to compost!
I'm not sure I'd add them to leaf mould but that's because I store it in those bags you get firewood in and therefore have quite large holes (think it would seep out and be difficult to handle). I suppose if you use standard plastic bags then it would be ok.
