My wife and I visited New York a few years ago and decided to visit the Tiffany store on 5th avenue I was a bit sheepish as I thought that we looked well down at heel to visit somewhere like that but found that the assistant couldn't have been more friendly or helpful, I doubt that for one minute she thought that we were millionaires incognito and said that we could browse as long as we liked. I doubt that many up market stores in London would have the same attitude but who knows they may be just as friendly.
I remember a man going into a car showroom a very long time ago. He had his own, very successful business and was known to us at the yard (stables) I worked in. He looked like a scruffy farmer - mainly because he was! The staff were less than polite and basically ignored him and obviously hoped he'd go away. He did, but he returned at a later date - in his new Rolls Royce...
....which he'd paid for in cash.
They were more than peed off. Served them right!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I just make sure my finger nails are clean.. and in the Summer my feet when going to a GC In Winter I wear gloves and socks and couldn't give a damn what anyone says to me...my money I've retired early ( didn't buy any handbags lol ) I don't have to be a snotty salesperson on commission or otherwise.
I recently split - rather sawed my water lilies into pieces..anyway my hands appeared to be dyed blue/black and my finger nails the same after the job. I washed and scrubbed but the stain remained. I informed the rest of the house I as on washing up duty for the rest of the week - going to a wedding at the weekend. It got a little lighter but not worth talking about. Went for a cup of tea at my friend's and she said lemon juice...I rolled my eyes, then tried it,within seconds clean hands! I couldn't believe it!!

trust me barry, they're not. Some shops in Bond St expect you to make an appointment. Are the clothes that busy?
