TAYBERRIES

billy5billy5 Posts: 24

I planted two tayberry plants in separate 12" pots about 10 weeks ago. They have grown very vigorously & are about 3ft high with a 3ft spread. There are no signs of any flowers. Will these plants fruit this year?? And do I prune them?? If yes, how & when??

Tayberries fruit on the canes which grew the previous year so will probably not fruit until next year unless they arrived as large plants.  Pruning is easy though - once fruiting has finished, completely cut out the fruited canes leaving the new unfruited ones which will bear fruit the following year.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
