deadheading

Is it a bit late to deadhead the petunias in containers?   Everything is looking a bit straggly and seedy.  Including the geraniums.   And one of the Bowles Mauve in the borders is enormous.

im brutal with my deadheading and snip lots of straggly heads and leaves off.  everything looks quite bare for a week, then loads of new flowers usually appear image

  • Thanks Pink Lily,  I'll just go ahead then and see what happens.

hi to keep your flowers looking good and flowering to the highest quality you have to keep dead heading and five minutes every time i go up the allotment makes a difference.

  • I deadhead often and always.   Either just the flower head or else cutting back to where there's side shoots and depending on what it is.

  • It seems that I spend most of my time in the garden deadheading! Must say its a job that I quite enjoy image
