planting

hi there, this is my first posting.....

I want to plant some ground cover and climbing plants for my front gate posts, preferably with a bit of colour   any suggestions

  • Welcome Debbie digs... just a few questions....how high are your gate posts? Sunny or shady spot? What soil do you have? Sandy? Clay? I presume the plants can't be too bushy? Do you need access through the gateposts? This will help us advise you best. image

    honeysuckle and clematis? Colour and scent also depending on the site can be really hardy

    Clematis need a deep root run, so no good for shallow soil.
