Different coloured wooden sleepers when wet?

I have just had some wooden sleepers replaced in my garden and noticed this morning after the rain that some of the wood has changed a much darker colour than the other sleepers. Is this a major issue?-should I asked to get them changed by the person who fitted them and is this normal? Thanks

Stain them all the same colour if you are concerned. I doubt anybody would change them for that reason. They will weather.

I suspect the concern is about whether some have absorbed a lot of water and, if so, should they have done.  I wouldn't expect treated timber to change colour as much as shown in the photo's, assuming they were all the same colour before the rain.

Certainly none of the sleepers used for my raised beds do so.

Fencing's the same. As philippa says - it's a natural product, so there will always be variation in colour.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
