Tomato feed/feeding camellias

katvetkatvet Posts: 45

I've got loads of liquid tomato feed left as I've only got a couple of grow bags - is there anything else I can use it up on or is it too high in potassium for most plants? I also want to feed my Camellias as some are looking a bit sad but not sure what the best time of year is to do this? I think I need an ericaceous feed for these? Thanks!

Tomato feed is good for any flowering plants and should be really good for camellias as they make their flower buds now for spring's display and it's important they don't go thirsty for the next few weeks or you'll get bud drop..   Dilute it with rain or distilled water if your tap water is hard.

Tomato feed is high in potassium it's OK to use it on plants when in flower or you could keep it for next yearimage

It should be fine, but the time to feed them is in the late summer/early autumn when they're making the next year's flower buds.
