Moss killer near new lawn/ongoing prevention?
We were thinking about using Jeyes fluid to clean a concrete area next to our house (it gets no daily sun, so moss is a particular problem).
The concrete has a slight slope which leads down to our lawn. We do however have to drain areas where we can direct most of the water off.
Is it OK to use Jeyes fluid, which I understand is OK for lawns, near such new turf (laid two weeks ago) with the risk that some of it may still end up on the lawn?
Also, does anyone have any suggestions to help prevent moss in a shaded area in future?
Thanks

I wouldn't want Jeyes too near my lawn - even well diluted. I'd make sure you keep it well away especially as you have new turf! How about keeping a strip along the grass edge which you clean by hand just with water?
Any hard surface in a shady area will get mossy unfortunately. Long term, I'd lift the concrete and replace with gravel, interspersed with planting to prevent it being slippy. That would still give you a place to sit, or at least use

I don't like using Jeyes Fluid in my garden. It is so harmful to wildlife and strangely enough when diluted it's very attractive to cats and causes them an horrifically painful death.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Ah sorry, I looked at some other forum posts that seemed to suggest it as something relatively harmless.
Any other suggestions or should we just try scrubbing with water and a mild soap mix that we try to keep away from the lawn?
Unfortunately taking up the concrete is too complex and costly for us so looks like we'll have to find a way to clean regularly.
The strip protection is a good idea.
Soapy water will do the job - I used to use the stuff for dishes - my own 'personal' brand of course...
It won't do the grass any harm so you don't need to worry about it getting on there

I use Armillatox, for cleaning the patios and pathways, and it smells sweeter, without any ill effects, must admit though years ago, I used Jeyes regulalry to clean the paths in a previous property and found where it went into the lawn I had better grass.
