I agree. This shows the leaves of viburnum tinus.
I have a plant like this and it is a cross between a Mahonia and something else which may be some form of berberis. Latter is a bit of a guess though.

Have just looked this up on plantfinder and there is a cross between mahonia and berberis, called mahoberberis...could be this?

I don't have a photo but plantfinder does. There may be more than 1 cross between these 2 plants. There are quite a lot of each one.
Have now though. I know they're quite closely related but didn't know they crossed. Prickly edged leaves though, very mahonia looking.
Mine is less prickly than usual Mahonia thug needles.
The dried off ones are nearly as painful as holly aren't they
