    I'll go with Nola on both. I can even see a few little holes from viburnum beetle.

    I agree. This shows the leaves of viburnum tinus.

  • I have a plant like this and it is a cross between a Mahonia and something else which may be some form of berberis. Latter is a bit of a guess though.

  • Have just looked this up on plantfinder and there is a cross between mahonia and berberis, called mahoberberis...could be this?

  • I don't have a photo but plantfinder does. There may be more than 1 cross between these 2 plants. There are quite a lot of each one.

    Have now though. I know they're quite closely related but didn't know they crossed. Prickly edged leaves though, very mahonia looking.

  • Mine is less prickly than usual Mahonia thug needles.

    The dried off ones are nearly as painful as holly aren't they
