  Yes, plant only the fattest, healthiest cloves. Seed garlic is best.

  Hi you have to use the biggest cloves from the bulbs you use. I have used Solent white and only plant the big cloves from the bulb eat the rest.

  then when you grow and harvest do the same save the big cloves from your harvest to plant out

  Hi, I bought big fat garlic bulbs from Suttons, the plants looked really healthy and strong,but they've only produced puny walnut sized bulbs

  Snap! I bought garlic from IoW. Planted the biggest cloves, as I always do, and I have been rewarded with my worst harvest ever! Small heads and rust on every plant. The Elephant garlic from the same source has done really well. Onions and shallots (not from IoW) in the same bed have been excellent.
