Plant ID please

Hi all, can anyone help with my mystery plant? My Uncle gave me this as a seedling which I have grown on. I think he said it was from Algeria? He is unsure himself! It apparentely grows to about 3 foot and is quite plorific with small pink flowers. I only have one flower! Any suggestions would be most helpful, Lee

I think it is a Mirabilis Jalapa.

I know this as Marvel of Peru but a neighbour calls it the four o'clock plant.  Grows like crazy from seed and has a wide variety of colours.

  • Hi Busy Lizzie

I think youre spot on, lightning quick. It does also flower late afternoon as it says on wiki. Thank you very much!

I know it as belle de nuit, my French husband brought me back some seeds from his Father's garden, they were very easy to germinate. I have them in yellow and white as well as pink.

Actually I looked up the Latin name by Googling Belle de Nuit! I live in France and friends have them as pot plants.

Any chance of spare seed to offer on the Seed Swap?
