One of the perennial Sunflowers, Helianthus sp. Never could tell them apart.

  • Ooh, you star! I had that in my garden but lost it during the renovations.  I've been wondering what it was.  Now someone will tell us! image

Could be Jerusalem artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus).  They tend to grow quite tall and have a nutty flavoured tuber which is good for eating!  Give it a quick Google and see what you think.

Def helianthus.  We had it in a previous garden, grew to 7ft in places and spread every year.  Beautiful but can be invasive.

Thanks guys, Heliopsis helianthoides & Heliopsis helianthoides both look like it. It was quite tall.
