my dahlias are budding late some have been i flower for weeks while others are only just showing there first budds any one having the same trouble

mine are are doing the same too, I'm in the midlands and thought it was something I was doing wrong. I have upped the feed by using 'chempak 4' (other high potash fertilisers are available!!!!) but I find this works a treat on all my Toms and etc... Producing high yields of quality produce.
thanks for that will give it a go i was talking to a chap who grows dahlias and his are the same this year seems a problem for some reason

Isn't this a fairly normal time of year for dahlias to be flowering - August?
They won't all flower at exactly the same time anyway Stanley. Like many plants, some varieties will be later than others. Have you got a selection of different ones? Growing conditions vary in different parts of the country too.
Verdun's in the tropics of Cornwall so everything flowers early

Help , could you look at picture of dalia , lots are not opening and seem to go rotten on the end , anybody any ideas ?
I'm having a similar problem with my Bishops Children, so very interested in any feedback.
